About Our Charter Unlocking Potential Through Education Encompass Academy is a public charter high school sponsored by the Washoe County School District. As a tuition-free school of choice, we operate under a charter agreement that outlines our mission, goals, and accountability measures. Our most recent charter renewal was approved in 2024, reflecting our continued commitment to student achievement, equity, and innovation. You can read our current charter in full below. JumpStart Dual Credit Program with TMCC Encompass Academy partners with Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) through the JumpStart Dual Credit Program to help students enroll in college courses that also earn them high school credit. This opportunity allows students to get a head start on their degree while still meeting graduation requirements. Courses are available online or in person at TMCC’s campus, providing flexibility to fit students’ needs and schedules. Press Releases Scholastic Gateway Fund Press Release Encompass Academy was awarded a $9,974.86 grant from the Konner Robison Scholastic Gateway Fund to enhance its one-to-one device program. The funds will be used to purchase iPads and protective cases, ensuring equitable access to technology for all students and supporting academic success. Counseling Services At Encompass Academy, our counseling team is here to support students every step of the way—academically, personally, and professionally. We provide comprehensive academic planning along with college and career counseling to help students navigate high school and prepare for their futures. Zbella - Counselor - dana@encompassacademy.org Graduation Requirements Encompass Academy follows the graduation requirements set by the Nevada Department of Education to ensure students are on track to earn a high school diploma. Graduation Requirements Alternative Credit & Waivers Students at Encompass Academy may be eligible to earn credit or waivers for certain activities completed outside of the school day. Arts & Crafts Club The Arts & Crafts Club at Encompass Academy is a fun and creative space where students can explore a variety of hands-on art projects, learn new crafting skills, and express themselves through creativity. Students may participate in activities such as painting, drawing, seasonal crafts, DIY projects, jewelry making, and more while connecting with other students who enjoy art and creativity. Explorer Athletics Welcome to the Explorer Athletics program! At Encompass Academy, participation in sports is more than just competition—it’s an opportunity for students to grow as individuals and teammates. Our athletics program builds on the school’s core values of academic achievement, social-emotional growth, enrichment, and personalized pathways. We are proud to support student-athletes in developing resilience, teamwork, integrity, and a strong work ethic—both on and off the field. Encompass Academy is currently in its probationary period as an independent member of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA), the governing body for high school sports in Nevada. We compete primarily in the Division 1A league and in charter school competitions. Student-Athlete Registration Students who wish to join a sports team at Encompass Academy must register through Aktivate , the official platform used by the state of Nevada to manage athletic participation.
