Remote Learning

This page serves as a one-stop shop for how enCompass Academy plans to provide its programming for the 2020-2021 school year.  It also provides information on how to access academic curriculum while not physically in the school setting. We will be using a hybrid: Google Classroom combined with on-ground classrooms, Edmentum for credit recovery, and full virtual programming via Google Classroom. There is also links to teachers and their emails for direct questions.

Path Forward Reopening Plan

Below is the Path Forward Reopening Plan for enCompass Academy.  Highlights are provided in the overview presentation, and details are provided in the accompanying plan.  Please note this is a work in progress, as we are still building components of this plan including:  protocols, wellness and recovery, and protocols for full virtual learning.  ​Feel free to complete our survey online to provide your input.

Google Classroom

Each student has access to Google Classroom.  To access Google Classroom, they must first go to Google.com and click "sign in" in the upper right hand corner.  See video tutorial below.  The student login is as follows:

​Username:  first initial last name @encompassacademy.org 

Password:  student's birthdate:  month.day.year

Example:

John Doe, birthdate January 15, 2004

Username: jdoe@encompassacademy.org

Password:  01.15.04
Each student within the Google Classroom will have individual classes that mirror requirements for their current schedule.  Instructors will be posting assignments that will take about 30-40 minutes each day.  

The requirement is for students to complete the work, they will not be graded in the same fashion as they are during regular coursework.  

Students will be able to submit completed assignments online (either within the classroom, or by taking a picture and submitting the completed work).  Some assignments may need to be printed, but if there is no printer available, students can write on a sheet of paper.  

Instructors will keep office hours, and students will be invited to touch base with them.  All instructors should be available between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily for questions.

Students who have already been using Edmentum for their online credit recovery will be able to continue to do so.  The school is not going to assign new coursework from this site for our remote learning plan at this time.  If you have questions, or would like to set a time to take an assessment, click here to reach our Edmentum coordinator.
