Please note: enCompass Academy will begin remote learning on Wednesday, April 1, 2020. Click here for more information. Students will not attend school physically until April 16, 2020. Continue to check this website for updates.
This pages serves as a one-stop shop for how to access academic curriculum while note physically in the school setting. We will be using a hybrid: Google Classroom for on-ground classrooms, Edmentum for credit recovery, and we will also be providing packets for students who are not able to access online learning. There is also links to teachers and their emails for direct questions.
Each student has access to Google Classroom. To access Google Classroom, they must first go to Google.com and click "sign in" in the upper right hand corner. See video tutorial below. The student login is as follows:
Each student within the Google Classroom will have individual classes that mirror requirements for their current schedule. Instructors will be posting assignments that will take about 30-40 minutes each day.
The requirement is for students to complete the work, they will not be graded in the same fashion as they are during regular coursework.
Students will be able to submit completed assignments online (either within the classroom, or by taking a picture and submitting the completed work). Some assignments may need to be printed, but if there is no printer available, students can write on a sheet of paper.
Instructors will keep office hours, and students will be invited to touch base with them. All instructors should be available between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. daily for questions.
Packets with individual student work will be available for pick up on Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at the school between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
After the first week, we will have set times for students to pick up new assignments and drop off completed assignments that is based on grade level. We will post this schedule next week, as we must determine how many students will pick up packets.
Packets will include the same work and supports that are available in the Google Classroom, but with all elements printed out. Students can still go online for extra supports and video clips, and these supports will be identified in the packet. Students will not need these supports to complete their work.
Students who have already been using Edmentum for their online credit recovery will be able to continue to do so. The school is not going to assign new coursework from this site for our remote learning plan at this time. If you have questions, or would like to set a time to take an assessment, click here to reach our Edmentum coordinator.
